Scot Steele
Over the past 30 years I have worked as a manager, leader, consultant, educator, mentor, and coach, interacting with thousands of employees in several companies across the globe. My passion is helping people become their best selves at work. I recognized the need for employees to create value for the organization and its customers for the organization to be successful. Over the years of lessons learned, and the refinement of knowledge and skills from my MSc Organizational Development program, I built the Steele Method and the Contributorship paradigm. I have experienced many challenges and celebrated many successes helping organizations AND people benefit from adoption of the Steele Method and Contributorship. I am proud of the results I have delivered. I would like to help you and your organization as well.

Maslow’s Hierarchy
Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs is a psychological theory proposed by Abraham Maslow in 1943, organizing human needs into a five-tier pyramid. The hierarchy progresses through the base of physiological and safety needs, (food, water, shelter, and income) through social needs for belonging, esteem needs for recognition, and culminates in self-actualization, representing the realization of one’s full potential.
This framework suggests that individuals prioritize addressing lower-level needs before advancing to higher-order aspirations, offering insights into human motivation and development across diverse contexts.
The Steele Method
The Steele Method is a unique approach that leverages Maslow’s Hierarchy and Intrinsic Rewards through the performance management process to increase employee engagement and retention.
Employees are educated on Contributorship, helping them recognize the value they add to the organization and improving their self-confidence and sense of satisfaction with their work. Through Contributorship, employees see the WIIFM (What’s In It For Me) at the intrinsic levels (Belonging, Accomplishment, Mastery, Progress, Purpose and Autonomy), which creates a strong bond with the organization.
